BirthdaySong

Lyrics

CHORUS

A birthday happens once a year

I can hardly wait for mine.

I count the minutes, hours & days,

It's an awful lot of time.

Time keeps moving forward

And my calendar keeps track

Of all the Weeks & Months before my Birthday it comes back.

I Started counting minutes, there were 60 every hour

Well this got boring quickly so I started counting hours

I counted hours, 24 in every day

But found that counting hours didn't leave much time to play.

CHORUS

A birthday happens once a year

I can hardly wait for mine.

I count the minutes, hours & days,

It's an awful lot of time.

Time keeps moving forward

And my calendar keeps track

Of all the Weeks & Months before my Birthday it comes back.

I put 7 days together and then I had a week

At night I'd dream of presents and wish that I could peek

I started adding up the weeks and soon I had a bunch

I put 4 weeks together and then I had a month.

CHORUS

A birthday happens once a year

I can hardly wait for mine.

I count the minutes, hours & days,

It's an awful lot of time.

Time keeps moving forward

And my calendar keeps track

Of all the Weeks & Months before my Birthday it comes back.

12 months has gone quickly, 12 months make a year

Now it is my birthday, and all my friends are here

But when this party's over I'll have to start again

And count up all that… time on my calendar again.
